For a long time…
… I approached creativity with more pressure than peace.
I thought I needed to:
create more,
achieve more,
find my “style,”
grow faster,
and somehow prove myself through what I made.
But over time, creativity started feeling heavy.
And somewhere along the way, God gently began shifting my perspective.
What if creativity was never meant to be performance?
What if it was meant to be stewardship?
In my newest cornerstone article, I share more of my personal creative journey — from sketchbooks and fashion design to homeschooling, surface pattern design, and learning to build a slower, more intentional creative life with God.
We’ll talk about:
• why modern creatives feel so exhausted
• the difference between performance and stewardship
• practical rhythms for sustainable creativity
• and why “clarity often comes in the doing”
One of my favourite lines from the article is this:
“There is something that changes when a creative sees her gifts as something to care for instead of prove.”
If you’ve been feeling creatively tired, uncertain, or stretched thin lately, I think this article may deeply encourage you.

Be blessed with purpose, creativity and direction.
Love,
Martie
